Completion requirements

Attendance is a vital aspect of the course to ensure your success. Students will be expected to attend a minimum of 80% of classes to obtain their certificate.

The programme leads directly to the Apple App development with Swift Certified User Certification. The other 3 sections are evaluated through a portfolio of guided projects to test candidates’ skills as well as real-world industry projects. Successful completion of each module will be required to progress.

Internship

Candidates who successfully complete all requirements will be offered a summer internship at one of our partner company. Bahrain Polytechnic strives to always place students in an environment where they can learn from the industry mentor.

 Pre-requisites and selection process

No previous programming experience is required but students are expected to be highly motivated with English language at level 5 minimum as all the material is in English. Access to a Mac computer is not required but is an advantage. All modules are designed to allow students to complete all the activities requiring a mac computer in class. In order to facilitate practical work and team activities, each cohort will be limited to 25 students. All applicants must submit a CV, a letter of motivation and create a video presenting a project idea. Candidates may be asked to be interviewed by the selection committee. Your letter of motivation (500 words maximum) should cover the following points:

The video presentation (5 min length maximum) must present an idea for a potential project for a mobile app. You should include a background of the project, the problem to be solved, possible features and how it will help the community it serves. Videos will be evaluated with regards to creativity and feasibility of the idea, demonstrated motivation and creativity of the delivery.
